…seems to be my goal for blog posts.
I have just updated the rulebook for my chess-like collectible board game Wutianqi. Check it out! I’ve done a fair amount with it since last time I’ve posted the rules.
Here are some changes:
- An example of legal moves available to the Sun Instructor.
- Expanded elemental and monster rules.
- Typos squashed, grammar strengthened.
- The old old old MS Paint graphics have been replaced with vectors drawn in Inkscape. Nice!
Some other stuff has happened behind the scenes, such as the massive increase in the number of elementals. Oh boy, so many elementals.
I have a bunch of piece graphics designed in GIMP, but they’re not as nice as the vector graphics I’m drawing in Inkspace. They also have white instead of blue for water movement, which I prefer, but doesn’t print.
So I shall be redesigning the pieces using Inkscape then, once I have a set completed, I will release PDFs so you can print pieces at home!
Currently, I’m wrestling between round and octagonal tokens. Initially, I’ve preferred round, but I’m also thinking of laser cutting pieces and curves are much slower than straight lines. There are examples of both in the rulebook; what do you think?
Also, I will be expanding the Etsy store soon. There shall not only be choker necklaces but also some used renaissance-style clothing, the selling of which I have been tasked with.
